Research suggests dramatically better outcomes for both mothers and infants\, and infant mortality rates drop\, when employees have access to paid parental leave. Some believe the state should pass legislation requiring employers to provide family leave to employees. Yet some believe a market-based solution would allow businesses to design a package that works best with their current leave/paid time off package\, and enables them to be responsive to the needs of their employees. \n\n \n\nOur regional coalition\, the Northwest Chamber Alliance\, will be presenting a discussion regarding Family and Medical Leave legislation.
